On July 29, 2026, the 'Riwal' was detained in Livorno, Italy with 20 deficiencies, ten of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Water/Weathertight - Covers (Hatchway,- portable,- tarpaulin etc) Cracked 2) Water/Weathertight - Covers (Hatchway,- portable,- tarpaulin etc) Corroded 3) Water/Weathertight - Covers (Hatchway,- portable,- tarpaulin etc) Not properly maintained 4) Safety of navigation - Nautical publications Not updated 5) Fire safety - Fire fighting equipment and appliances Not as required 6) Fire safety - Fire dampers Inoperative 7) Labour conditions -Sanitary facilities Not hygienic 8)) Labour conditions - Heating, air conditioning and ventilation Insufficient 9) Safety of navigation - Magnetic compass Not as required 10) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on Aug 5, and the inspection led to a refusal of access to Paris MOU-harbours.
