According to the police investigation, the skipper was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and would not be prosecuted.

At midday, the ships were separated, and 85 waiting vessels were able to continue the voyage after 11 hours. The 'Septimo', which was significantly damaged at the bow, returned to Werkendam, where the cargo was transferred to another vessel, before being repaired at a shipyard.
