Ferry suffered electrical issue

Tue Dec 09 10:41:50 CET 2025 Timsen

The ferry 'Herøysund' (IMO: 9666405), serving on the route Stokkvågen - Onøy - Sleneset, suffered problems with the thruster on Dec 8, 2025, and had to proceed to Stokkvågen for troubleshooting. All sailings until the morning of Dec 9 had to be canceled, and the 'Sigrid' was planned to over the service from Stokkvågen at 08.05 a.m. However, the 'Sigrid' suffered an electrical fault, which was causing problems with the bow gates. Aan electrician is on the way, but until further notice, the A and B routes were suspended on Dec 9.

Ferry had trouble during docking manoever

Fri Nov 22 12:59:39 CET 2024 Timsen

The 'Sigrid', had some trouble when trying to dock, en route from Forvik, in Tjøtta on Nov 20, 2024, at 5.15 p.m. due to strong wind and its propulsion being fouled by a rope entangled in the propeller. Instead of approaching the quay straight, it remained alongside the quay for a long time. Then some loose rope floating in the water got stuck in one of the propellers. After about 40 minutes, the ferry was finally docked. Both the wind and the loose rope meant that one sailing in the night and one on the morning of Nov 21 were cancelled. The propeller has been examined using an underwater drone, and then the ferry returned to operation.

Ferry to be docked in Stavanger

Thu Jun 15 19:09:20 CEST 2017 Timsen

The "Sigrid" which hit a stone filling near the ferry dock in Skipavik on Ombo on June 14 at 8.10 a.m. was taken to Stavanger in the afternoon and was docked at GMC on Buøy during the afternoon of June 15. It was still not known what caused the grounding, but the supplier will now analyze the signals sent from the bridge to the systems in the engine room. A report was submitted to the Norwegian Maritime Directorate and other authorities by Regional Manager for Ferries in Norled. The pictures taken by the diver did not show any damage to the hull but to rudder and propeller. The extent will only known once the ferry has been drydocked and examined thoroughly. It was currently uncertain how long she would have to remain out of service.
