Sirena to become Ambella

Wed Sep 23 15:13:54 CEST 2026 Timsen

Ambassador Cruise Line was planning to enter the German market with the former 'Sirena'. The UK company acquired the ship from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. It was to be leased back to Oceania Cruises through spring 2028. The vessel was to be renamed 'Ambella', before joining the company’s new Ambassador Kreuzfahrten brand. From summer 2028, the ship will offer a new adults-only experience tailored for the German market. Germany joins the company’s existing markets of the UK, served by its Ambassador brand, and France, served by the recently acquired CFC brand which has recently been renamed Ambassador Croisière.

Ship to leave NCL fleet in 2028

Fri Aug 07 13:01:01 CEST 2026 Timsen

The Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has sold the "Oceania Sirena", currently operated by the cruise line Oceania Cruises. Although the identity of the buyer has not yet been revealed, the ship was to leave the fleet after completing its spring schedule in 2028. She was built in 1999 under the name "R Four" for Renaissance Cruises. It later became part of the Princess Cruises fleet and, since 2016, has been operating for Oceania Cruises under its current name. The sale was part of Oceania Cruises' strategy to renew its fleet, gradually replacing the older R-class ships.

Oceania's Sirena Cruise Ship Sees Redesigned Cabins, Public Spaces and More

Mon Jun 17 10:45:13 CEST 2019 arnekiel

Oceania Cruises did not spare its newest ship from a fleetwide refurbishment program originally developed to inject new life into its oldest and smallest ships. Sirena, which launched in April 2016, has emerged from dry dock with completely redesigned cabins and suites, refreshed public spaces and new artwork throughout. All 342 cabins and suites onboard received new decor, fixtures and technological upgrades, including new entry doors, full-length mirrors and 100-volt outlets on each side of the bed. Additionally, the public spaces were redesigned, while crystal chandeliers were added throughout the ship. Sirena's spa also received new wall sconces.
