The unmanned 'Sjøblomsten' broke lose from its four moorings in Nyksund on the morning of Oct 15, 2026, and grounded at the breakwater. At 08:30 a.m., the lifeboat 'Halfdan Grieg' was on its way to Nyksund, but has since turned around and returned to Myre, as the vessel was inaccessible and firmly stuck on the shore. The crew, in cooperation with the Øksnes Fire and Rescue, was looking at alternative options for salvage. The pier in Nyksund was closed for around three hours to secure the vessel before the tide came in. The municipality was informed that a salvage attempt was successful on the evening of Oct 17.
