Söse pulled disabled tank barge to Nienburg

The "Söse" jointly with two other vessels of the Weser River Authority pulled the disabled, German tank barge "Yggdrasil", 1129 ts (EU-No.: 04031470; MMSI-No.: 211541590; CS: DC6276), to Nienburg on Feb 9, 2016. The barge had lost both rudder blades on Feb 8 during an unsuccessful turning manoever at 5.05 p.m. near the B6-bridge. The disabled barge dropped anchor to stop. The bow anchor chain lay perpendicular in the fairway and hampered ship traffic which had to be interrupted for salvage work. The "Söse" was called to pull the barge which had loaded liquid fertilizer to a berth in Nienburg in the foremidday of Feb 9. The damage was estimated to be around 20.000 Euro.
