Grounding off Ottersbo
On the afternoon of Sep 7, 2026, the 'Trine', enroute from Steinkjer, lost engine power and went adrift off Brekstad in the Trondheim Fjord. Short before 4 p.m., it ran aground just outside Ottersbo on Ørland. A first attempt was made to pull the ship off the ground a little by the NSSR lifeboat 'Horn Flyer' (MMSI: 258235500), but it was only able to move the ship a little before the attempt was put on hold, waiting for the tide to rise. Fire and rescue crews attended on scene as a precaution against a possible pollution, but no oil or other leakages were observed. Short before 7 p.m., the 'Trine' was successfully refloated and proceeded to Ottersbo with own power. The ship asked for assistance and had to be towed to Tromsø by the NSSR lifeboat "Skomvær 3". The towage was undramatic as the "Trine Charlotte" was 2-3 miles from shore and the weather was calm. She had sailed from Øksfjord to Hjelnes on Sep 8 at 3 p.m. and was safely moored in Tromsø at 11.50 a.m.
