On Nov 28, 2010, around 2 a.m., in 52.26 N 003.54 W, 23 miles W of Ijmuiden, the "Trout" was in collision with the chemical tank m/v "Kardeniz", both vessels proceeding in one direction, the "Trout" 194 deg speed 9.6 knots, "Kardeniz" 184 deg speed 13.6. The "Kardeniz" struck the "Trout" in the stern. The "Trout" got a hole of 1.4 meters diametre and suffered water ingress. The drifting "Trout" reported collision to Dutch Coast Guard, which directed to the scene tugs, rescue boats and a helicopter. The "Kardeniz" was permitted to resume voyage. No reports on spill or both vessels’ cargoes. The "Trout" proceeded to Rotterdam and berthed in the Caland Canal around 8 a.m.
